How COVID-19 Affects Acupuncture Partners

by Rachel Hartstein, L.Ac., B.Sc.

*3/24/20 - An update from Acupuncture Partners
Good morning,

I sincerely apologize for not being in touch sooner. With all that’s been going on, and all the decision-making that means for our family and business, what we’ve wanted to communicate to you has changed nearly every day. Today, as Governor Baker’s emergency order goes into effect at noon, I want to share how this affects us at Acupuncture Partners.

As a healthcare facility, registered to practice acupuncture by the Board of Medicine in Massachusetts, we are considered “essential services”. More importantly, we understand that those of you with chronic and/or debilitating health conditions, or chronic pain, rely on us to be able to function in your lives. Others of you depend on us for acupuncture support during times of heightened stress to help regulate your sleep, digestion, energy, and emotions.

Because of this, Zach has decided to continue to work limited hours at the office this week. We have redoubled our efforts at sanitization as well as isolation of clients from each other; our 5 treatment rooms allow us to keep folks more than six feet apart at all times. All table paper, sheets, pillowcases, and blankets are changed after every client, and handwashing, as always, occurs before and after any client interaction. We ask that all folks with upper respiratory symptoms stay home, and that you contact us to be screened regarding symptoms before making an appointment. Please use email to connect with us, as that’s the best way for us to respond to you when we’re out of the office.

As of today, Sarah will be taking this time to rest, regroup, and work on some online offerings that we know will be useful and necessary for many of you who are isolated at home. Look for those offerings to be announced via email to your inbox soon.

We have stocked up as much as possible on herbal formulas that we believe effective to strengthen the lungs and immunity as well as treat the symptoms of flu or other acute respiratory infection. Reach out to us if you feel these might be helpful for you. If you haven’t been in to the office in a while, we might require a consultation before prescribing to you, but please shoot us an email if you want to discuss touchless payment and pickup of some herbs this week.

We are also offering packages of 10 treatments for a prepayment discount of $500. These do not expire, and can be used for any acupuncture treatment or health consultation with Zach or Sarah. If it’s in your capacity to do so, we would be grateful for your investment in us and our business during this uncertain time. If this is something you’re able to do, just send an email and we can find a time to take a credit card payment over the phone, or via PayPal.

Lastly, I want to encourage you to breathe deeply; to focus on what’s in front of you rather than on the days ahead as much as you can; and to find ways to rest wherever possible. We promise to walk alongside you and assist you in whatever capacity we can, and we’ll be here for you on the other side of this.

Yours in partnership,
Rachel
